Music Monday: Oceans

First, thank you so much for your response to my post last week. I appreciate every single one of you and your ideas. I am still in the process of updating my playlist. Do not hesitate to drop a song suggestion in the comment section. 😉

Just yesterday, the Lord used a mundane situation to teach me a life lesson. Just like every other millennial that I know, I am somewhat attached to my phone. My father says I’m addicted but then, we live in the jet age.

Anyways, for few hours that felt like eternity, I could not find my phone. Unfortunately, everything happened so fast that I could not really search for it in the place that I knew I had left it.

To Tayo on a busy Sunday evening, that was like the storm that would captivate my ship.

What is the big deal about the phone? Is it not a piece of gadget?

I know. Let’s not forget that I am addicted to this piece of equipment.

In the midst of my searching, I felt a strong urge to talk to God about it. I mean it’s just my phone and maybe I was a little careless with it but I did talk to God.

How does this apply to life?

I had to faith it even though I was not making any headway with my phone search.

I had to trust that God cares about everything that pertains to me including that piece of equipment that is to my name.

Sounds cool, right?

There are quite a number of definitions of faith but the most important thing is who you put your faith in.

If your faith is in the Almighty, then you’ve got it.

Hillsong beautifully crafted the issue of faith in their song titled Oceans

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand
And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now

So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior (3X)

I will call upon Your name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine

This week, my utmost prayer for you is that in whatsoever situation, whether mundane or life-changing, you’ll learn to have faith in God by keeping your eyes on God.
