School Outreach 21 – Lagos, Nigeria | PadATeen Project 2025

On Wednesday, the 26th of March 2025, the TMO Lagos team visited Rising Field College, Agege,
Abule Egba, to carry out the fifth edition of the TMO PadATeen project, where we reached a total of 102 girls.

We arrived at the venue at about 8:35 AM, fully prepared for the outreach set for 9:00 AM by the school authorities. To ensure full engagement and focus on the outreach activities, we assigned roles to each volunteer present, including photography, educational sessions, and student interaction.

Student Engagement and Educational Session

The school principal facilitated the gathering of all female students aged 13 and above, totaling 102 students. Our primary focus was menstrual hygiene education, and an introduction to TMO and the PadATeen initiative.

  • Deborah Agboye led the introduction, explaining TMO’s mission and how the students could benefit from and engage with the organization.
  • Solomon Emakwu, our logistics coordinator, ensured that all informational materials on TMO were neatly prepared and distributed.
  • Florence Unachukwu conducted the practical demonstration, educating the students on the correct method of wearing and disposing of sanitary pads.

Q&A Session

The students were actively engaged, and asked two key questions, which were thoroughly addressed by the TMO volunteers:

  1. Misconceptions about pad disposal – The students received clarification on proper
    disposal methods.
  2. How they could access TMO resources – This was explained, ensuring they understood
how to stay connected with TMO for further support.

Conclusion

TMO Lagos PadATeen 2025

The outreach was a resounding success, leaving a positive impact on the teenage girls through education, practical demonstrations, and resource distribution. The engagement from the students and the school administration’s support contributed greatly to its success.

This initiative reinforced TMO’s mission of empowering young girls with knowledge on menstrual hygiene and access to essential resources, ensuring they are well-informed and confident in managing their health.

TMO Lagos PadATeen 2025

Special thanks to our TMO Lagos volunteers who contributed to making this outreach successful: Elizabeth Surulere, Deborah Agboye, Solomon Emakwu, Florence Unachukwu, and Owolabi Oyenike.

TMO aims to reach teenagers across the world, reminding them that they can be and do better, and while we hold several projects, the PadATeen Project is one of the ways through which we do this.
