The Lagos team conducted the second batch of PadATeen outreach on the 28th of March 2024 at Learning Gate College, located at 51, Shyllon Street, Ilupeju, Lagos. The outreach comprised two sessions aimed at educating students on essential topics, distributing sanitary pads, and introducing them to Teens Meet Outreach (TMO).
Activities:
- 10 Things Every Girl Should Know About Menstruation: This session aimed to educate female students about menstruation, covering essential information and facts.
- Notable Women in the History of Nigeria: This session highlighted influential women in Nigeria’s history, inspiring students with their achievements and contributions.
Engagement:
The sessions were highly interactive, with active participation from both students and teachers. Questions were encouraged, fostering a dynamic learning environment.
Distribution:
A total of 40 pads were distributed to students at Learning Gate College. Following the sessions, the team proceeded to Makoko community, where the remaining 70 pads were distributed, totaling 110 pads distributed in total.
Additionally, the team introduced Learning Gate College to Teens Meet Outreach (TMO), providing information about the NGO’s vision and offerings for teenagers. This included details on TMO’s various programs both online and offline. Through this introduction, students were informed about the resources and opportunities available to them through TMO.
The outreach at Learning Gate College was a success, with engaging sessions and the distribution of sanitary pads.

TMO aims to reach teenagers across the world, reminding them that they can be and do better and while we hold several projects, the #PadATeen is one of the ways through which we do this.
