Special Correctional Centre For Boys – Lagos, Nigeria | LPOH 9.0 Project

For the 9th edition of the Leaving Prints On Hearts (LPOH) project, TMO Lagos visited the Special Correctional Centre for Boys at Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos on Saturday, the 16th of August 2025.

With a clear vision of impact and leaving the boys better than we met them, the team arrived at the Centre, not only with words of encouragement but also with some food items for the boys.

The Correctional Centre housed over 100 boys, from ages 10-17, who had committed crimes and could not be tried as adults. At the same time, some of them were victims of circumstances and eventually found themselves at the facility.

The team had a session with the boys, with TeeFaith introducing the organisation and what TMO is all about. Afterwards, Peace Betiku, one of the volunteers, spoke to the boys about Maximising Their Time in the Centre. She spoke to them with so much efficacy, and it was a beautiful session.

Solomon Eneojo, another volunteer, spoke to the boys about Purpose. He taught what purpose is and how they can find their purpose. He also taught them two different types of claps, which got the boys excited and smiling all through.

The team donated some food items to the boys, and this included:

Donated items
  • Cartons of Noodles
  • A pack of Spaghetti
  • A bag of Salt
  • A carton of Tomato Paste; and
  • A carton of Maggi.

The team left with the resolve to develop a comprehensive skill program for the boys, teaching them essential skills that would have a lasting impact. In simpler terms, we will be back with a long-term project!

Special thanks to Mr. Segun of the Special Correctional Centre, who made it possible for us to have a beautiful time with the boys and also to the facilitators of the Centre.
