For the Leaving Prints on Hearts (LPOH 9.0) Project in Katsina, TMO visited the Central Market on the 30th of August 2025 with over 100 participants, 20 of whom benefited from the items brought.
The program started at 1 pm after a meeting with the Market Women Chairperson, during which we informed her of our presence in the market.
As a stakeholder in the market Environment, she was offered one of the waste baskets and waste bags, for which she was grateful. After that, we proceeded to line C and D of the market area, where Victor gave a sensitisation on Environmental Sanitation, Hygiene and Disease Prevention.
A short demonstration followed, after which questions on Environmental Sanitation, Hygiene and Disease Prevention were asked. Correct answers from the market women and attentive buyers were rewarded with a Waste Basket and Waste bag to drive home the message.
There was a general clean-up in the two lines by the TMO volunteers, and the waste was properly evacuated.
