Hello to that teenager
Who failed that exam
And is considering suicide
Hello to that teenager
Who is being abused or misused
Who feels dirty and insecure
Hello to that teenager
Whose parents are always absent
And thus craves love
Hello to that teenager
Who is battling with addiction
And sinks deeper daily
Hello to that teenager
Who is under peer pressure
Constantly urged to do wrong
Hello to that teenager
Who is broken and shattered
And is diminishing already
Hello to that teenager
Battling with low self esteem
And feels inferior to all
Teenage years are fun
But has its ups and downs
Failed that exam?
Unhappy at home?
Scared of the future?
Heartbroken?
Shrinking?
Under peer pressure?
I write to encourage you
To do what is right
I write as a psalmist to comfort
I write to motivate
I write to heal
I write to preach peace
I write to give glad tidings
I write to notify you of God’s love
To remind you of his sure care
To tell you of how present he is
Especially in times of trouble
I write to inform you of His healing
And his beauty for your ashes
