Self-esteem is a favourable, dignified and appropriate regard of self. It is the quality of the expression of self image. Every human has a self esteem but there’s a variance as to how much or less we operate in it.

Self-esteem in its moderate state is not wrong. Don’t have a low self-esteem and don’t be over confident either. Since we’re discussing low self-esteem, I’ll do some expounding.

Low self-esteem is a tangible decline in the level of dignity and relevance with which one sees himself or herself. When a person suffers from low self-esteem, he thinks and believes that he’s inferior to everybody in the world and that his opinions or views about things are nothing to reckon with.

It then goes a long way to disease his mental vitality and with time, without care, he begins to lose interest in life.

Inferiority complex births low self-esteem and low self-esteem produces failure. This is why this deadly phenomenon must be aptly gotten rid of.

4 Ways to Get Rid of a Low Self-esteem

1. Fall in love with yourself

Ever fell in love with a girl or boy? Do you remember how you loved the person even with their flaws? You need to start doing the same to yourself. Fall in love with every one of your flaws, be crazy about your abilities and appreciate your endowments. Don’t wait for people to shower compliments on you before you compliment yourself. Walk up to the mirror early in the morning and thank God for the beautiful/handsome gift he gave the world through you. Admire your treasures and compliment your plumpness. Fall in love with your black colour and embrace your kinky hair.

Don’t wait for the world’s evaluation of yourself before you love yourself. You’re the best, that’s the truth.

2. Stop fighting for acceptance

The fight for popular acceptance is the reason lots of teenagers have a low self-esteem. You want to be noticed, you want to be acknowledged and when, by chance, you’re not, low self-esteem creeps in. The feeling to belong is one major thing you have to get rid of to have your self-esteem back in shape.

That you have a short height doesn’t mean you have to belong to the group of tall guys so people can regard you. You’re born to stand out and not fit in. If no one accepts you, accept yourself and be your own kind of person.

3. Read good books

Books are a great tool for self-development. It cannot be overemphasized. Reading of books will widen your mental capacity and enlighten you to things you don’t know, thereby, creating a level of confidence in you. If there’s one thing I can’t give up on, it is reading. Reading of books is a sure bet on your way to getting rid of low self-esteem because they’ll open your eyes to some hidden treasures.

4. Engage in a thorough meditation on God’s word

We live in a spiritual world and when we fight against problems, we must be conscious of this reality. This last tip is the ultimate! Study and meditate on God’s word as it renews your mind and begins to birth confidence on the inside of you. Confess and declare his promises about you.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

1 Peter 2:9

You’re a child of God and you can’t be disadvantaged.

Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession.Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.

Exodus 19:5-6

You’re the best thing that happened to the world. Live it!

See you at the top!
