At Shepherdsfield International school, Oyo. Sherpherdsfeld road, by ijaremily off iseyin road. BOX890, Oyo.
The program started by 12:40pm with an opening speech by the school principal. There were 70 students (JSS1-SS3) in attendance.
After we were introduced, Damilola Akinyemi went ahead to tell them about TMO and what we have come to do. She started the teaching from the explanation of what prayer is all about, the meaning and characteristics of teen age, what teens should do before prayer and how teenagers should pray.
When she was through, I (Victoria Adepoju) went ahead to explain to them the reasons why teenagers should pray, what should teens note about prayer and some misconceptions about prayer, examples of teenagers that prayed in the bible.
There was time for questions between 1:45pm and 2:00pm. Some of the questions asked by the students are as follows;
1. What is the difference between a born again and someone that is not born again?
Answer: A born again is someone that has given his/her life to Christ and is now living the life of Christ but a person that is not born again is someone that is living his/her life the way he wants to. The person’s nature would not be Adamic/sinful but that of a born again would be Christ-like/spirit filled.
2. Is it bad to read bible from our phones or tablet?
Answer: No, it isn’t. As long as you make sure your phone is on flight mode. But for concentration sake, its best you read from the bible directly. Note that you must have a personal bible no matter how many versions you have on your phone. There are times your phone might be dead, does that mean you won’t read your bible and pray? Think about that…
The program ended with prayer session both for the students, their future and the school authority.
