Paid In Full!

A debtor is an entity that owes a debt to someone else; the entity may be individual, a firm or government.

In the Old Testament, the debtors were to be pitied and the penalty on non-payment afterwards was slavery. II Kings 4:1-7

WHAT ARE WE INDEBTED TO? SIN .

After Adam sinned, corruption entered into his heart and life and he transmitted sin into the life stream of the human race, corrupting all people thereafter. All human are now born into the world with an impulse toward sin and evil. (Gen 3:1-7, Gen 6:5,6, Ps 14:1-3).

No natural man is free, we are all indebted to sin “for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Rom 3:23)

Man took on the nature of sin and became slave to sin and her master, Satan. Christ came that our old man may be crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin (Romans 6:6).

All those who are not born again are under a curse and are debtors.

The wages of this indebtedness is death.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Rom 6:23)

God stated that the consequence of sin is death;

“Behold all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth shall die.” (Ezekiel 18:4)

The options devil give to man to be free from this indebtedness are slavery and death.

What sin is keeping you from God?

Is it anger, a hard heart of unbelief, alcoholism, disobedience, gossip, bribery, temper, cheating, stealing, pride, adultery, abortion, greed, homosexuality, unforgiveness, etc.? Gal. 5:19-21.

The good news is: it does not matter what your sin is, it does not matter how many sins you’ve committed, all of your sins have been paid for by God. Through the blood of Jesus Christ, the price for “your” sins has been PAID IN FULL. Glory to God!

“And you being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses. Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us which was contrary to us and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross” Colossians 2:13,14.

Christ came to overcome Satan, death and hell. It was a terrible conflict but He conquered all.

“And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” Colossians 2:15

“Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness” Rom. 6:18

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” John 8:32

…to be continued

Rest in the truth that Christ came for you and he’s knocking on your heart if you’re yet to receive him.
