Love is kind
Love is patient
Love heals
It breaks through
It revives the crushed spirit
It is never envious
It rejoices in the truth
It is not self-seeking
It is gentle
It is meek
It doesn’t use one’s weakness against him
Love bears all
It believes the best of all
It is not haughty
Neither is it proud
Love soothes the soul
It is generous
As Christians, there is a walk we are called to engage in and that is the LOVE walk. We are called to be imitators of Christ, to learn of Him, to grow to the fullness of the measure of the stature of Christ, to conform to his image. And the simple way to do this is to LOVE. The reason why we ever had Christ come to earth was that of LOVE. Oh! How he loved us enough to die for us; even while we were sinners.
He gave us the first example of Sacrificial love when he laid down his life at Calvary and thus, once we are called into the fold of Christ, we are expected to do nothing but express our Father who in His entirety is Love.
The law of Christ is the law of love and I can’t forget the words of Jesus in John 13:35
John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if ye have love one to another
There is a “God-life” that we have been called to live and this is specified in
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Note that the Bible says the fruit of the spirit ‘is’ and not ‘are’. This depicts that it is a single fruit which brings forth all the virtues as stated in that scripture; the first of which is LOVE.
The LOVE way is the way of the Lord
Are you walking the way of the Lord?
