This is so overwhelming, I can’t handle it alone!
A lot has happened in Nigeria lately during the ENDSARS protest and many have been left wounded, emotions crushed, depressed and many lives lost.
Going through the storyline leaves one overwhelmed. And it’s difficult to process the pain incurred from these events all by yourself.
Personally, it’s overwhelming and I can’t handle this alone.
The sleepless nights, night terrors, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorders), depression, and even suicidal thoughts tormenting people’s mind in this season is staggering. And there is an unheard cry for help from every wounded heart.
In the middle of this mess, it’s encouraging to know that you are not alone.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.Psalms 34:18 NLT
God is with you
God is in you
God is beside you
God is around you.
God’s got your back on this. And you don’t need to be overpowered by the madness happening around you.
God is faithful to heal your heart and mind even as you give him the permission to do so. He is one father that knows how to put the pieces of our frame together and make us whole again.Tweet
A simple prayer like “God please heal me” makes him begin his regenerative work in you.
“You are not alone. Process your pain in the presence of Christ.”Sheila Walsh
I know it seems difficult but you can overcome this mess.
You can go through this crazy situation and still stay sane. You don’t have to loose your sanity in the middle of this mess. I encourage you to stay mentally sound in times like this.
Reach out for help
Remember you’re not alone in this situation! So, don’t try to handle it all by yourself.
This is the best time to reach out to your support system if you have one.
And if you don’t, search for a good one. Your friends, family members, church, colleagues, and neighbours will be a good place to start from.
A friend loves at all times and a brother is always there to help at the bad times.Proverbs 17:17 EASY
A Counselor can also help you in times like this. As much as possible, seek out for the right help and don’t bottle up your emotions.
Guard your heart
Select the content you feed your mind with. If you’re disturbed by the gross images tweeted here and there on social media, simply turn it off!
But if you just have to be online for other reasons then, filter the content that pop up in your timeline.
Just like you wouldn’t feed your stomach with poison, don’t feed your mind with toxic and depressing news.Tweet
Truth is, life is a cycle of challenges and victories. We lose some battles and win some. Yet, we keep moving.
And while we continue to speak out to End police brutality in Nigeria, we will not lose our peace in the process.
God’s got your back on this. You are not alone!
