Disciplining Yourself For Greatness, How?

In recent times, a wear and tear has come upon our sense of discipline. Discipline is now viewed as a marathon herculean process.

Discipline is an act of doing the right things at the right time, over and over until it becomes a habit.

We view success as a royal castle on the other kingdom, while we ignore the bridge of greatness. The thin line between the rich and the poor is basically discipline; while the former has understood the principles of being disciplined, the latter, on the other hand, would rather rabble over discipline as a punishment.

To be a flag raiser in discipline, you must be able to control your own mind, talk to your inner man. With this, you can make life easier, it is just the basic dose of life. Everyone has been wired for greatness but you will have to engineer your own components. People might try to coerce you under the umbrella of discipline but until it becomes inbuilt in you, that gesture will always be viewed by you as slavery.

Discipline will build you to make choices, in actual fact, the power of want. It is that conviction of discipline that you have wired your mind into that will help you to choose between what you want now and what you want the most.

Discipline is a price you have to pay to win the prize

Guides to Help You Be Disciplined

1. Get over your weaknesses

To every one who thinks he stands, let him take heed, lest he falls.

Everything you crave to be disciplined for has a weak point you bend to. If you decide to watch your weight, you tend to be weak when you come across your favourite meal. Learn to turn a blind eye. The only thing that can kill you is that which you do not know, but according to statistics, more people die due to fear. Wisdom is the principal thing, challenge your weakness with wisdom.

2. Flee from temptation

Temptation is that devil that shows up the moment you decide to stay disciplined. When you decide to read for that test, suddenly your favourite soap opera is on display. One remedy I give to myself is telling myself that this thing I want now will always be there or better still a better model but the things I want the most may never come back to me.

3. Resist Procrastination

You can never be disciplined if you keep postponing opportunities, the nonchalant attitude you give to time can ruin your discipline.

4. Set goals with a vision

See beyond where you are, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Without goals or set plans, you can never be disciplined. On a to-do list, list out your order for the day and endeavour to accomplish as many as you can.

5. Keep building

Don’t get carried away and let down your guards, keep building yourself towards discipline. You can only get better.

6. Think positively

Some people want to be disciplined but negativity has taken the better part of them. Think positive over everything you want to be disciplined about, be it academics, career goals, spiritual, see yourself doing it no matter how hard it seems.
