To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment – Ralph Waldo Emerson
All my life, growing up and even now, I’ve seen people try to be who they are not, they try to fit in when in fact they were created to stand out. I believe if God wanted all of us to be the absolute same and without any difference, we won’t have people with different skin types, unique talents, and gifts. Everyone would have the same jobs and we all will be like well functioning robots programmed to do the same thing and act the same way.
The truth is no one ever made a difference by being like everyone else. Be brave about who you are. Although you might be bruised, scared, and scarred but that is not your best self, you can get better every day.
You don’t have to change who you are but you can improve and upgrade yourself into that best version of you that there can be.
You don’t have to apologize for being yourself, do it fearlessly. It is time to accept this is you and when you make mistakes, tell yourself “I’m going to be better, not bitter “. You are one of the only persons you are certainly going to spend the rest of your life with, so love yourself, love your flaws, your scars, your unique sense of humor, your everything. Just be yourself, let people see the real, imperfect, quirky, beautiful and magical person that you are. If they can’t accept you, if they can’t accept that you are a work in progress, building yourself up to be the best version of you then let them go. Believe in yourself and you will be unstoppable.
By being yourself, you put something wonderful in the world that wasn’t there before. Don’t let other people decide who you are. Find your passion, build your dreams, be proud of yourself for how far you’ve come and never stop pushing to be the best YOU.
