We are in that generation where immoral acts are now called moral, even our subconsciousness knows some habits we indulge in are wrong or bad, yet we find ourselves doing them.
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age.
Titus 2:11-12
As believers, we ought to live godly, as Christ lived while he was on earth.

Despite knowing how we ought to live, we find ourselves in a generation where sinfulness, and disobedience is mostly termed being “woke” and a necessity teenagers and youths must engage in. I am here to tell you that you do not have to engage in them.
This is going to be a series to help teenagers stay Godly and maintain their spiritual stand in this generation.
A lot of teenagers face peer pressure on daily basis, and most habits and challenges teenagers face can be traced directly to peer pressure as its root. This should help you understand that your friends determine a lot about you.
He who walks with wise men will be wise but the companion of fools will be destroyed.
Proverbs 13:20
Sadly, only a few knows that there are so called friends should not be called their friends; they should not be on their list of friends either, because of their habits and who they are. Not everyone knows who their friends are.
The first way to stay godly in this generation is to be a part of God’s family.
How do you join God’s family?
1. Salvation
You become a part of God’s family through salvation. You accept the fact that Jesus died for your sins and rose up on the third day, to give you eternal life.
Jesus answered and said to him, John 3:3 NKJV “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:9-10 NKJV
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:2 NKJV
2. Staying in God’s family
After salvation, what next?
Most times, teenagers are led to Christ by teenagers, parents and different people, but only a few are taught on what they need to do after salvation. After salvation, you need to grow to become who God wants you to be in Christ.

In staying in God’s family, you need to fellowship with other saints. “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25 NKJV
A lot of undergraduates have challenges in selecting the right fellowship for themselves. Some do not want to attend their parents’ church, while some do not see the need to worship with other saints.
3. Maximizing the gift of the Holy Ghost
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
I Corinthians 2:12 NKJV
The Holy Ghost is a promise fulfilled unto us. Jesus said the Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth who will bring to our remembrance all things.
The Holy Spirit is what you need as a Christian. Being baptized in the Holy Ghost enables you to pray in tongues and when a believer prays in tongues, clarity and mysteries are revealed.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.
Romans 8:14, 26 NKJV
For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”
The Holy Spirit in you is the spirit of life, and you can fellowship with God daily. You can start by praying 10 minutes in tongues every morning consistently. Praying in tongues improves your hearing from God, and opens your spirit.

{Read: How to be God’s Friend}
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.
Jude 1:24 NKJV
You build yourself when you pray in tongues.
1 Corinthians 14:2,4 “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.”
When you pray in tongues, you are praying to God and you edify yourself.
