I tried writing this post earlier enough, but I was feeling dizzy and I just had to sleep.
Few times, I have written on sleep and how important it is.
The brain uses less energy when you are asleep than it does when you are awake.
Sleep is important, as much as movement is important to our health, (so we don’t live a sedimentary lifestyle).
Functions of Sleep
Sleep plays an important role in the function of the brain, by forming new pathways and processing information. Enough sleep helps to improve memory and learning, it increases attention and creativity, and helps in decision making.
Sleep plays an essential role in retaining memory and important information and stimuli.
As humans, you can’t naturally remember every detail concerning an information given due to your daily activities. Sleep helps you sort out your daily experience, and memories.
Sleep helps maintain the balance of hormones in your body. Sleep enhances your productivity at work during the day.
“I know the importance of sleep, but I sleep for a few hours. Do you think I need help?”
Yes, you need a little bit of help on the adjustment of your time.
- Make sure you sleep very early, early enough. Make sure the time you are sleeping, and the time you intend to wake up will give you an 8 hours sleep.
- Avoid coffee, caffeine containing drinks, a few hours before bedtime.
- Stay away from your phone.
- Put the lights off.
- You can listen to slow music, so you can easily fall asleep.
I hope you have learnt more about sleep today?
